Something More: A leadership opportunity for your high school students

Early next month, we are holding a Something More Equipping Event for 9th to 12th grade students who are interested in growing in relational ministry skills.  Please invite your young leaders to join us as we delve into the topics of community building, encouragement, and group leadership.  Professional youth ministry staff will teach students how to lead small group games, be an encourager, and listen actively (among other skills).  Students are encouraged to take these ministry skills back home to their congregations and youth groups where they can practice using them!  These workshops include meals, snacks, program materials, and a t-shirt.  The majority of costs are covered by the ELCA Innovation Grants for Youth and Young Adult Ministry, but a $15 investment for each participant is requested (either from the church or individual).  Financial assistance is always available.  Youth leaders, adult guides, and pastors are welcome to join but not required to attend these events with their students.  Learn more and sign up online at www.tinyurl.com/somethingmoreelca.  Contact Mary Ellen Helms (MEHelms@popluther.org) with questions.
