West Virgina flood recovery begins--How YOU can help

The aftermath of what is being called a '1000 year flood' has left 23 dead, thousands impacted, and areas in need of help still unaccessible, but help is there for our brothers and sisters in West Virginia through local agencies trained in disaster relief. The agency working closely with the West Virginia/Maryland Synod is Community Lutheran Partners. (Visit their Facebook page for disaster relief updates.) Lutheran Disaster Response (LDR) is taking monetary donations that will be shared in full with Community Lutheran Partners to aid the relief efforts. If you wish to make a donation, please visit the Lutheran Disaster Response website at https://community.elca.org/westvirginiaflooding?_ga=1.72419988.684223291.1460046591.

If you're trained in disaster relief or would like to volunteer in some other capacity, please reference the information from LDR below:

Please do not plan to 'just show up' to help. Make sure your time and talent is being used in the most effective way by working through Community Lutheran Partners. They know where you are needed most, so please complete one of the forms above and wait to be contacted by Community Lutheran Partners.

This clean up effort will not be over anytime soon. Please continue to pray for our neighbors and share the donation/volunteer information with your congregation, friends, family and co-workers.
