Does your congregational insurance agent know you by name?

Gary recently spent 90 minutes with his congregational insurance agent. He meets with the agent once every two years and calls him at least once a year. After all these years he still learned valuable information from the most recent meeting and is changing the way he does parts of the ministry based on what he learned.

Please contact your insurance agent (if you have not done so in the last couple of years) and walk through your ministry with him/her. Learn where the ministry may be vulnerable. Ask about liablity coverage for staff, volunteers, parameters for driving to and from events, the companies recommendations on screening volunteers, tubing, skiing, paint ball and white water rafting. Ask about service trip pitfalls. Should your youth be on ladders, roof tops, using power tools, etc..

Get to know the agent by name and face and stay in regular contact.

Visit the youth & family section of the Synod website for a good list of questions to ask.  Can't find it? Contact Gary.

Cluster Get Togethers,Training Events for Youth and/or Adults, and Youth Events...

are scheduled as folks raise their hand and say, "Hey, let's do one in my area."  Contact Gary and after a date, time, and location are chosen, he will advertise the event through facebook, youth & family e-bulletins, and hard copy mailings to congregations.
