Obituary for The Rev. Verner William "Bill" Falk

The Reverend Verner William "Bill" Falk went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 28, 2012 after 11 months of care from Hospice of Cincinnati.

Pr. Falk was born on October 14, 1933 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He attended the University of Wisconsin and received a degree in Philosophy in 1955. In 1959 he received his Master of Divinity from Garrett Evangelical Seminary and was ordained in June of that same year.

Pr. Falk served the following congregations in Wisconsin: Paris Corner's Methodist Church, Kenosha; Oakfield Methodist Church and South Byron, Oakfield; Plainfield Methodist Church, Plainfield; Kingsley Methodist Church, Milwaukee; and Beloit Methodist Church, Beloit. He also served Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Cincinnati until his retirement in 1996.

In addition to his service to the Church, Pr. Falk used his math skills in the data processing field at the dawn of the computer age. He was also a gifted musician, participating in the Cincinnati Civic Orchestra with his wife Barbara.

Pr. Falk is survived by his wife, Barbara, and children, Marilyn Falk, Janet Zerhusen, David Falk and Brenda Weinhart.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at 11 am at Hope Lutheran Church, 4695 Blue Rock Road, Cincinnati. The Rev. Ed Williams, Assistant to the Bishop, will preside. The Rev. Lisa Arrington will preach. Visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, January 1 at Hope Lutheran Church from 7-8:30 pm. Burial will be at Arlington Cemetery. A light reception will be held at Hope Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall following the burial service.
