UPDATE! Attention Lay Presidents, Vice Presidents, Treasurers and Financial Secretaries: Look for Invitation to Attend Our Annual Lay Leaders Day on March 16

Update! Portico Benefits Services representative Barbara Debski will be joining us on March 16 for the Congregational Lay Leaders Day event. She will be addressing the entire group and will be available to answer specific questions from treasurers and financial secretaries. We are delighted to have Barb join us. She is a wonderful advocate for us in Portico Benefit Services and has a long history with the Board of Pensions and now Portico, thus bringing excellent insight regarding the current benefit plans and future changes/impacts.

Invitations have been sent to all congregations inviting council presidents, vice presidents, treasurers and financial secretaries to join Bishop Holloway and Arlene Dykeman, the synod's Congregational Remittance Manager, for our annual Congregational Lay Leaders Day on Saturday, March 16, 2013.

We will be gathering at David Lutheran Church, 300 Groveport Rd, Canal Winchester from 10 am until 3 pm. While there, lay leaders will have time to hear from and talk with Bishop Callon Holloway about the synod's mission plan, your ministries and other pertinent information to your congregation. Treasurers and Financial Secretaries will meet with Arlene Dykeman to discuss tax and other financial questions as they relate to your congregation. We hope to have a representative from Portico Benefits Services with us to share with you information about changes to healthcare benefits, retirement accounts and why getting your congregational employees who receive health benefits from Portico to take the Mayo Clinic Health Assessment is a good thing for everyone.

If you are able to attend, please RSVP to Kim Uemura at kuemura@southernohiosynod.org or return the postcard included in the mailing by March 1, 2013.
