You're invited to attend 'Between Heaven and Earth: Faithfully Responding to Climate Change.'

Join Ohio Interfaith Power & Light, Trinity Lutheran Seminary, and Bexley- Seabury Seminary for a conversation highlighting the life-changing experiences of climate scientist Lonnie Thompson of the OSU Byrd Polar Research Center in dialogue with an interfaith panel and audience.

This program will recount the impact that a recent heart implant and near-death experiences have had on renowned climate scientist Lonnie Thompson of the Ohio State University Byrd Polar Research Center. Dr. Thompson will describe how his perspective has changed on his work as a climate scientist, and conversation with panel and audience members will explore the scientific and spiritual dimensions of climate change.

An offering will be taken to support Interfaith Power and Light’s Carbon Covenant project to plant 3,000,000 trees on Kilimanjaro. This project addresses one of the world’s most visible symbols of global warming – Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa, and its melting glaciers. What’s less well known is the impact of the melting snows on the people who live on its slopes, and their ambitious and detailed plans to remedy the situation while fighting global climate change.
