Obituary for The Rev. Lowell Pederson

Jesus said, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid." John 14:27

The Reverend Lowell Pederson went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 15, 2013. He was 77 years old. 

Rev. Pederson attended Michigan State University where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1958. He then went on to attend the Evangelical Lutheran Theological Seminary to earn his Master of Divinity degree in 1966. He was ordained in 1966.

After his ordination, Pr. Pederson served at the following congregations until his retirement in 1996: Faith Lutheran, Sidney, Michigan; St. Paul Lutheran, Ravenna, Ohio; Hope Lutheran, Fostoria, Ohio; and Stone Lutheran, Ashland, Ohio.

Pr. Pederson was an advocate for hunger ministry and served at various local food banks, including being the president of the Ashland County Food Bank.

He is survived by his wife, Carol and their children, Cathy and Alan.

A memorial service is planned for Saturday, October 19, 2013 at First Lutheran Church, 30 South Wittenberg, Springfield, Ohio at 11 am. Bishop Suzanne Dillahunt will preside and Pr. Bruce Kramer will preach.There will be a luncheon at the church immediately following the memorial service. No graveside service will be held.
