Obituary for The Rev. Paul Andrews

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. (2 Timothy 4:7)

The Reverend Paul Andrews went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 10, 2013. He was 82 years old.

Pr. Andrews attended Capital University, earning his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1952; in 1957 he earned his M.Div from the Evangelical Lutheran Seminary, now Trinity Lutheran Seminary; and went on to earn his Th.D from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri. He also did graduate work at Johns Hopkins, Nortre Dame and Princeton Seminary. Pr. Andrews was ordained in 1957 at St. John Lutheran Church, Bellevue, Ohio.

He served as pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Litchfield, IL from 1957-1959. He then became a professor at Capital University, where he served for 44 years. He also served as an adjunct professor at Trinity Lutheran Seminary, Wittenberg University, and the Methodist Theological Seminary.

Pr. Andrews is survived by his wife, Gloria Zick Andrews and children, Laura Andrews of San Antonio, TX and Dr. Douglas Andrews of Springfield, OH.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at 2 pm at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1555 S. James Rd., Columbus, OH. Visitation with the family will take place after the service.
