Announcing 2014 Annual Assembly Hunger Network in Ohio

You are invited to the Hunger Network in Ohio 2014 Annual Assembly on Sunday, May 18th, 3:30 at St. John's Episcopal Church in Worthington, Ohio (700 High Street at Rt. 161/Dublin-Granville Road). The theme is "Seeds of Hope and Change: Advocates Seeking Justice to End Hunger," expressed through leadership from both church and state. We aim to return participants to our communities more informed, inspired, and capable to "do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly." Beginning within ourselves, we hope to spread this energy into and through our congregations, and bring relief to other who suffer.

This event will honor and equip advocates for economic justice, including:

  • Individuals and representatives of organizations supporting the HNO
  • Members of congregations interested in becoming active in the politics of providing adequate food for Ohioans
  • Food pantry volunteers and patrons
  • Public officials and their staffs
  • Human services advocacy groups
  • All committed to ending hunger

The program will feature Ohio Senator Charleta B. Tavares from the 15th District in Columbus who will speak on the issues and challenges of hunger in Ohio. She will pin-point pending and potential legislation along with what we as advocates can best do to alleviated it.

A light meal will be served and veggie seeds in biodegradable packets will be given out to everyone to plant at home.
