September 2014 Note to the Synod from Bishop Dillahunt

I am happy to announce that The Reverend Bob Abrams will be joining the Bishop’s office staff as a part-time Assistant to the Bishop. Pr. Abrams will remain as pastor at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Hilliard. We are excited about the gifts he brings to our synod and the larger church. Look for his contact information on our website under ‘About Us’ as soon as he is officially on board, which will be by October 1, 2014.

As I shared in my last note to the synod, we are making a definite shift away from assignments based on territory and moving instead to a relationship and program model.

As such, Pr. Abrams will be providing care for our rostered leaders and congregations, as well as assisting with conflict resolution.

Pr. Jeff Wick, Assistant to the Bishop, is handling all candidacy, mobility and call processes. He and Gabrielle Hudecek are working together to keep these processes moving along as smoothly as possible. 

Pr. Ed Williams, Director of Evangelical Mission, is handling evangelism, stewardship/mission support, renewing congregations and new mission starts, vision and mission planning in all congregations, stewardship education and worship.
