Hunger Task Force

Pr. Henry Zorn, chair (lcrhzorn@fuse.net or 513.474.4938)

The Hunger Task Force is active throughout our synod all year long, because hunger never sleeps, nor does it take a holiday.

This group of clergy, rostered leaders, and lay people have a passion for the hungry, homeless and under-represented in our society—locally and around the world.

Currently, the Hunger Task Force is working with the ELCA on a Malaria awareness and fundraising campaign, since the Southern Ohio Synod was chosen as a pilot synod for the new Lutheran Malaria Initiative (LMI)

Other programs and fundraising events supported by the Hunger Task Force and carried out by many of our congregations include the Souperbowl of Caring, A Potlucks to End World Hunger, and the Taking Root curriculum.

A bi-monthly e-bulletin and hard copy newsletter is published by the Hunger Task Force.  To be added to the Hunger Task Force E-bulletin distribution list, please contact Lora Jollis at lorajollis@yahoo.com.  These publications provide success stories, ideas, support and a list of upcoming events for congregations and individuals interested in helping to end hunger and poverty in our lifetime. See E-bulletin Archive under Related Links on right-hand side of page.
