Adolescent Informed Consent to Mental Health Treatment
TAANA "Encore" Teleseminar
TAANA is pleased to announce that in 2009, we will be conducting several teleseminars in an effort to provide members with continuing education without the hassle of travel and hotel stays. And the best part? If you missed the 2008 Annual Meeting & Educational Conference, all of our speakers have been handpicked from that very conference. Each presenter will perform their topic again for those were not in attendance or for those seeking a refresher. These teleseminars are scheduled throughout 2009, and they are available only to good-standing TAANA members. All of these teleseminars are free for TAANA members.
Approximately one month before each teleseminar, you will receive a broadcast fax providing details on how to attend.
Can't attend a teleseminar? The "Encore" Series will be available on CD immediately following each teleseminar. Click here to download the TAANA "Encore" Teleseminar CD Order Form.
Adolescent Informed Consent to Mental Health Treatment
This session will present the six primary concepts of the Therapeutic Jurisprudence (TJ) model that guided the design and findings of a descriptive qualitative study examining the decision making process of adolescents who consented to psychiatric mental health treatment and then will present the implications of the findings of this study, specifically related to potential policy and legislative changes.
Objectives:
- The learner will identify TJ concepts and how TJ was implemented as the guiding framework of a descriptive qualitative study of adolescent informed consent to mental health treatment.
- Based on study findings, the learner will identify at least two potential policy or legislative changes.
