Summer Series #3: Fotoklub Kompetition

Competition Rules Are Now Online

Griswold Center, Worthington

A summer without photographic competition?  Not hardly.

Join us for an evening of fun as long-time Westbridge member Mark Fohl leads a German-style photo competition.

This will be held on Wednesday, July 16, at the usual meeting time and place.

From Mark:

* * *

Before I go into the rules, I need some help.  I would like to have some volunteers who can set up tables, and/or who can enter stuff into a spreadsheet, or at least read scores.  The first three responses I get will be official volunteers.  Click here to volunteer.

And here are the rules of the competition:

There will be two competitions, one in monochrome prints, and one in color prints. Members and guests are invited to submit images and participate in the judging process.

  1. Each person may enter up to two prints in each category.
  2. Prints follow the standard size restrictions, but they need not be mounted.
  3. All prints are eligible (but new prints are encouraged).
  4. All prints in a competition will be displayed on a table along with their identifying number.
  5. Scoring will be done by attendees.  Each person should score each print (but not his or her own), giving it a score of 1 through 9, where 9 is museum quality and 1 is trash can quality.
  6. Winners will be determined by entering all scores into a spreadsheet: highest average scores win.  First thru fifth places will be announced and recorded.
  7. This is not a regular club competition: winners will not contribute to the 2008 - 09 points standings.  Winners are eligible for entry into monthly competitions (unless they are otherwise ineligible).
  8. Prints must be pre-registered so that we can record title and maker before scoring begins.  Prints can be registered on the night of the competition.

This is intended to be a fun and educational activity.  Fun because lots of people participate, and educational because lots of prints will be displayed.  Hope to see you there!

Cheers,

-- Mark
