Toledo MetroParks Photo Workshops

The National Center for Nature Photography, based in Toledo, holds a number of workshops each year.  They are very good and inexpensive workshops and the instructor is excellent.  Below is a list of some of their upcoming events.  To register just go to http://www.naturephotocenter.com/.

Saturday, February 9

Nature Shoot: Reptiles A unique behind the scenes opportunity to photograph some of the species in the Toledo Zoo's renowned Reptile House in this session led by Photo Center Director Art Weber and Andrew Odum, the zoo ' s curator of reptiles as well as an exceptional photographer. Fee: $25.00.

Tuesday, February 19 and Saturday, February 23

Oak Openings Photo Primer: Birds of Prey Secor Metropark, Secor Room, 7 to 8:30 p.m. The first in a yearlong series of photo programs combining tips on taking great nature photos with opportunities to explore the unique habitats of the Oak Openings and photograph the plants and animals that call them home. Tuesday meet in the Secor Room from 7 to 8:30 p.m. for tips on taking photos of birds of prey and to learn about the raptors of the Oak Openings. Saturday meet at Nature's Nursery in the Blue Creek Conservation Area for the opportunity to take intimate close-ups of birds of prey against a natural backdrop.
