Photo Challenge Groups
"Leather Landscape"

This is from a past challenge entitled "Things that Keep You Warm in Winter." It ultimately ended up as the Monochrome Print of the Year at the 2008 Annual Salon.
So... good results can come from photo challenges!
Photo Challenge Groups are small groups of two to six Westbridge members who meet once a month to share photos and provide constructive feedback to each other. Between meeting, members create ten new images based upon a specific challenge topic. They upload their images to a photo sharing website (such as www.PBase.com) or email them to each other, so they are able to review them before their next meeting.
Photo Challenge Groups will help you grow as a photographer and an artist. By being challenged to seek out and create certain types of images on a regular basis you will have a reason, direction and a deadline to develop your creativity. By sharing images with others you will learn new ideas and your input will also help others grow too.
With our club growing rapidly, Photo Challenge Groups also help by providing small group participation opportunities. You must be a member to participate.
If your group needs assistance, contact program coordinator Tom Snide.

New for 2010: Club-wide Challenges!
Photo Challenge Groups may now elect to participate in club-wide challenges. These challenges will encourage your group to work as a team to produce images that are shared online with other Westbridge Photo Challenge Groups. Groups will also be competing against one another.
March's Challenge: "My Favorites of 2009: Part 2"
Objectives:
- sharing images
- practice critiquing others' work
- working together as a group to share and compare opinions and suggestions for improvements
Here's what you need to do...
- In February your group should have met and picked the best two images for each participating member.
- You have until Monday, March 8th to upload your images to the Westbridge Zenfolio site. Be sure to upload your images to the folder labeled 'PCG Challenge #01'. If you need help uploading images, you can find instructional videos on this website under the Digital Competitions Resource Center.
- Be sure to include your name with the image title.
- Beginning March 9th, you may review the photos that others have uploaded and add your own (individual, not group) feedback comments. Note that Zenfolio allows you to highlight areas of the image with boxes, to help pinpoint areas that you refer to in your comments.
- Contact the other members in your group and plan to get together sometime between March 9th and March 31st to review the images and compare your opinions with others in your group.
- So... contact your group members and get started today! Good luck.
