FLORISTS SUPPLY EXPANDS INTO CALGARY

Florists Supply Ltd. has purchased The Flower Group, Inc. in Calgary adding a fifth location to its operations in western Canada. Florists Supply also has locations in Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Edmonton and Vancouver. The deal closed on February 28^th, 2014.  

The Flower Group was founded by Jay and John Watson in 1993 and they found success by delivering excellent customer service, quality cut flowers, and offering a wide variety of fresh flowers. Besides cut flowers, The Flower Group also offers a selection of essential floral supplies.

The operation will continue in its current location and with its current 10 employees. Jay and John will stay on for a 3 month period to help with the business transition. By March 1 Florists Supply plans to have email, invoicing, customer accounts and inventory integrated into Florists Supply systems.

Florists Supply plans on reviewing the offering of essential floral supplies and adding key items where possible as space allows. The new Calgary location will work closely with the Edmonton location in filling product requests not stocked in Calgary.

Florists Supply was founded in 1935 in Winnipeg. With 109 employees and 98,000 square feet of commercial space in western Canada, it is among the largest wholesale florists in North America.
