Wine and Design - Have fun with flowers!
6:00 p.m. – 9:00 pm 

Every day you work IN flowers – but do you ever really work WITH flowers?  Join your fellow attendees on Thursday evening will you will have a chance to design and network.  Create a design from scratch under the leadership of Tom Bowling, AIFD.  This fun, interactive event will feature not only fresh flowers, but food and libations to keep the atmosphere alive!

Opening Session:  Plan, Communicate and Measure featuring Don Buttrey

Don Buttrey is a passionate and powerful teacher. He is gifted at communicating the skills, tools and disciplines that are critical to success of managers in a demanding, tough selling environment. He is a precise coach who drives home the basics and fundamentals in such a way that the material becomes a part of the attendee’s daily regimens, practice and career!

During this high-energy, interactive session he will explore the scope of each core focus of this Institute: Plan, Communicate and Measure. Discover all the skills and activities of managers in order to perform the critical functions of planning, communicating and measuring to ensure the success of your company. Learn how to improve your skills and lead your team effectively and efficiently. You will take a look at management philosophies, how to lead autonomous people, identify the model employee for specific positions, and learn how to motivate. This session will set the tone for a high impact Management Institute.

Learn how to plan, innovate and communicate through the use of data at your fingertips. What impact do inventory, margin, and resources have on your bottom line? Here’s a chance to learn how to work the numbers and communicate their impact on your business from one of our own industry leaders, Tom Figueroa, AIFD, Nordlie, Inc.

The Basics of Goal Setting and Time Management* – Don Buttrey

Managing your time and setting attainable goals are two core competencies critical to achieving success, for you and for your company. Learn how to create alignment within organization by managing time efficiently and creating goals to give your team something to achieve.

During this workshop, you will practice Goal Setting for your department or area of responsibility. You will document defined, realistic, but aggressive goals and learn how to incorporate this technique in your daily work life. Explore how to direct and inspire, so that your people OWN the goals and manage the execution of these goals.

You will also learn how to manage your time through the use of Don’s Time Management Assessment Excel Template and adapt the template to your department and/or areas of responsibility. If time is money, this session is critical!

Closing Session - Don Buttrey

This session will focus on leadership communication – how to communicate, gain feedback, understand words, tone and non-verbal communication and how to actively listen.

During interactive workshops as part of this program, you will explore leadership relationship models and how we can adapt to these and work effectively with other styles.

Don will also break down the elements of team and individual communication. Learn how to rally the troops and conduct effective team meetings. Find out how you can be a winning coach and then work with Don’s personal disciplines checklist to become the most effective manager you can be!
