ECA - Media Ecology - Second Call for Papers 2011

Second Call for Papers 2011

Media Ecology Association

102nd Annual Eastern Communication Association Convention

“Communication and Power:

From Classrooms to Politics”

Arlington, Virginia
Key Bridge Marriott
April 13-17, 2011

Submission Deadline: October 15, 2010

A reminder that the Media Ecology Association, an affiliate association of the Eastern Communication Association, invites submission of competitive papers, thematic program/panel proposals, and innovative programming alternatives (e.g., roundtables, symposia, debates, open forums, and community programs) for the 102nd annual convention of the ECA.

The 2011 convention’s theme, " Communication and Power: From Classrooms to Politics,” reflects the convention’s location in the Washington, DC area – one of the most powerful cities in the world and the center of U.S. government and politics.

In keeping with this theme, we ask you to consider papers, thematic panels, and other programs that explore the issues and interaction of communication and power (from the empowered and the disempowered perspective) and the ways in which these intersect with the critical, methodological, research, and/or theoretical issues in media ecology.

General information about the 2011 Call for Papers can be found at http://ecasite.org.  Submissions to the Media Ecology Association/ECA must adhere to the following guidelines.

In order to receive full consideration, Media Ecology Association/ECA completed papers and program/panel proposals must be received by October 15, 2010.

Submissions must be sent via e-mail, with attachment(s) in MS Word format, to the 2011 Program Planner:

Thom Gencarelli
