AECOM captures Grand Award in Engineering Excellence Awards competition

Providing the structural engineering and building systems design for the new $768 million Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans has earned AECOM Technical Services the top award in ACEC Ohio's Engineering Excellence Awards competition.

The Grand Award was presented to representatives of AECOM at the annual EEA awards luncheon on March 10 in Powell. More than half of the services AECOM provided on this massive project were performed in the firm's Columbus office.

Three firms received Outstanding Achievement Awards: Stantec Consulting Services Inc., for its design of modifications to the interchange of I-275 and State Route 32, in Clermont County; The Mannik & Smith Group, Inc., for designing improvements to a mile-long section of Dorr Street, just south of the University of Toledo campus; and TranSystems Corporation, for its design of the replacement of the Columbus Road Lift Bridge in Cleveland.

Jones-Stuckey, A Division of Pennoni, received the Outstanding Small Project Award, for designing the restoration of Scioto County's last remaining covered bridge, near Otway, and nine other projects were recognized with Honor Awards.
