ACEC Ohio/ODOT Partnering Conference Recap

Lt. Governor provides insight on Innovate Ohio Initiative

Thank you to everyone who attended this year’s 8th Annual ODOT/ACEC Ohio Partnering Conference on Tuesday, at the Ohio Union. We had over 330 ACEC Ohio members and representatives of the Ohio Department of Transportation attend the conference, which is designed to improve partnership between our organizations. 

Congratulations to the winners of the ODOT/ACEC Partnering Awards. Four ACEC Ohio member companies received project partnering awards at the conference.

·Northwest Consultants and ODOT District 6 shared the Category 1 Award for the Union 31 project which replaced a deficient structure in Union County.
 
·Mott MacDonald and ODOT District 12 won the Category 2 award for the Cuyahoga I-480 EB auxiliary lane project. The purpose of the project was to both reduce congestion and improve safety.
 
·E.L. Robinson and ODOT District 6 shared the Category 3 Award for the Franklin I-71 project which was a widening project in Franklin County that added a third lane from State Route 665 to Stringtown Road.
 
·GPD Group, City of Streetsboro and ODOT District 4 were awarded the Category 4 award for the Frost Road project. The goal was to improve the intersection of State Route 43 and Frost Road with new signals and turn lanes.

Afternoon breakout sessions offered a unique perspective for consultants and ODOT representatives to switch roles and evaluate LOIs. In another session, ODOT representatives and consultants also shared experiences on meet and greets and helped each other to better understand project needs for collaborating in the future.
