ACEC Ohio member one of two appointees to engineers' licensing board

Former Montgomery County engineer also appointed

ACEC Ohio member James D. Mawhorr, P.E.,  has been appointed to the State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors by Governor Ted Strickland.

Mawhorr is vice president of transportation for K. E. McCartney & Associates, Inc., Mansfield.  He previously served as a district highway management administrator for the Ohio Department of Transportation from 1983 to 2001.

Mawhorr received a bachelor's degree from the University of Toledo.  His term expires September 24, 2014.

Strickland also appointed Fred F. Frecker to the board for a term that expires on September 24, 2013.  Frecker retired in 2007 after having served 15 years as executive director and president of Flexible Pavements of Ohio, Inc.

Frecker also served as the Montgomery County Engineer for 14 years and prior to that served for 13 years in various positions with the Ohio Department of Transportation.
