Message from Beth -- June 25, 2020

0It’s hard to believe I just celebrated my four-year anniversary as President of ACEC Ohio. What a great year it has been, thank you for your support!  This year, we continued to implement our strategic plan with graduating our first class of “Rising Leaders” from the ACEC Ohio leadership training program with the next class starting in August.  Our liaison committees continued to work with state agencies such as ODOT, OFCC and OEPA.  Advocating on behalf of the business of engineering through introduction of an indemnification bill, lien bill as well as letters to the administration confirming engineering consulting is an essential business in Ohio. While we all navigated the unknown waters of a pandemic, ACEC Ohio was there to keep you and your businesses informed on issues such as unemployment, worker’s compensation, liability, safety procedures and loans.  We regrouped to virtual settings and provided access to key administration and congressional members for answers.  So much more has been done over the past year, from a proud member campaign to celebrating 20 years of the Engineering Excellence Awards to professional forums to resource documents and online ethics training. For all the details, click here to view a "State of the Association" video narrated by outgoing Chair of the ACEC Ohio Board of Directors, Rod Sommer from LJB, Inc.
