DIversity and Inclusion

The ACEC Ohio Board of Directors adopted a new strategic plan in June 2020 at the annual meeting.  This plan has four key values and goals identified with objectives outlined under each goal. Click here for the ACEC Ohio FINAL Strategic Plan.

At the Board meeting on October 8, 2020, the board discussed the value of “Embodying Inclusion and Diversity.”

Embodying Inclusion and Diversity

Goal: ACEC Ohio is recognized as a welcoming organization where all members are included, involved, and can achieve their full potential.

Objectives:    

  1. Improve the diversity of ACEC Ohio through membership of companies including size, location, and areas of practice by setting up a specific diversity ad-hoc committee.
  2. Enhance the diversity of ACEC Ohio leadership through the board, chapters, and committees.
    1. Evaluate current ACEC Ohio Bylaws and the need for revisions to meet this goal.
    2. Evaluate recruiting to committees to enhance diversity.
  3. Promote a culturally diverse workforce through programming for members.
    1. Focused invitations for Young Professionals; Small Firms; Women; Vertical/Private

The board voted to create an inclusion and diversity committee to work and move the objectives forward. The committee will be chaired by Monica Mosure, VP of Marketing for ms consultants and former ACEC Ohio Board member.  The committee will work together to develop key metrics, identify educational programming needs and target diversity in membership.  If you are interested in joining this committee, please click here.
