The State of Ohio continues to perform above estimates for year to date.  The Ohio Office of Budget and Management released its monthly financial report for September, and tax revenue is coming in strong. For September, GRF tax revenues were about $94 million (4.5%) above estimates, buoyed mainly by the non-auto sales and use tax and personal income tax. GRF revenue is running about $134 million (2.1%) above estimates for the total year to date.

The Ohio Turnpike showed an increase in commercial vehicle miles traveled by 11.2% in September 2021 compared to the same period in 2020.  Total revenue for the Ohio Turnpike was 16.6% higher than last year at this time. The Ohio Department of Transportation user fee revenues were budgeted at an 8% reduction each month in FY 22. The reporting of these revenues lag three months, in July 2021 user fee revenue was only down 5% trending in the right direction.
