DIversity and Inclusion

As part of the ACEC Ohio Strategic Plan, a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee was created with the mission to ensure ACEC Ohio is recognized as a welcoming organization where all members are included, involved, and can achieve their full potential. And to serve as a resource for issues related to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and lead by example.

The committee has worked very hard this year to identify a program that will be beneficial to ACEC Ohio membership.  I am pleased to share with you a virtual four-part educational development program for our members which will explore “inclusive intelligence-- thriving through transformational change.” This interactive program starts in March and will have four 90-minute segments designed to advance your knowledge and skills in DEI.

  • The Why of DEI: the difference between diversity, equity, and inclusion, how to develop inclusive intelligence and the business case for inclusion.
  • Unconscious Bias 1: Recognize, address, and outsmart the hidden impacts of unconscious biases.          
  • Unconscious Bias 2: Interrupt unconscious bias, what companies are doing to fight implicit bias at an organizational level.
  • Presence Disparity and Location Bias: out of sight, out of mind--how to deal with inclusion of colleagues working remotely, tools to manage and combat this bias.

We encourage you to attend this series of workshops to build personal and organizational inclusive intelligence to be ahead of the curve and thrive through change.
