This course is designed for dental professionals that are at risk for on-the-job exposure to blood and other bodily fluids. The course teaches dental professionals how bloodborne pathogens are spread, how to avoid exposure, what to do if exposed to infectious material, and policy and process requirements as stated by OSHA regarding bloodborne pathogens.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify and discuss OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard
- Describe the requirements for an Exposure Control Plan
- Discuss the importance of standard and transmission-based precautions
- Describe Bloodborne Pathogens transmission mitigation strategies
Guest Speaker: Sarah Stream, MPH, CDIPC, CDA, FADAA Sarah Stream is a dental infection control specialist and educator that has dedicated her career to promoting infection control best practice in the dental setting. She continues to work with facilities nationwide to identify and mitigate infection control gaps and keep employees and patients safe. |

Refund and Cancellation Policy: The American Dental Assistants Association (ADAA) reserves the right to cancel any course should circumstances warrant such action. In the event the course is canceled, the ADAA will refund the full tuition. If you cancel your registration for this program, the ADAA will refund the tuition minus a $10 administrative cancellation fee.
