This course is designed for dental professionals that are at risk for on-the-job exposure to blood and other bodily fluids. The course teaches dental professionals how bloodborne pathogens are spread, how to avoid exposure, what to do if exposed to infectious material, and policy and process requirements as stated by OSHA regarding bloodborne pathogens.

Learning Objectives:  

  • Identify and discuss OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard
  • Describe the requirements for an Exposure Control Plan
  • Discuss the importance of standard and transmission-based precautions
  • Describe Bloodborne Pathogens transmission mitigation strategies
