NFIB - Make your DMC voice heard

A message from fellow ADMEI Member, Laurie Sprouse, Ultimate Ventures

Dear fellow U.S. DMC’s,

When we successfully filed legislation in Texas on behalf of ADMEI and Texas DMCs, it was NFIB, the Voice of Small Business, that came to our aid and helped us navigate our state legislature. Because my NFIB state leaders got to know us and our business, they have continued to watch out for us: alerting us when they saw rule drafts relating to our legislation coming out for public feedback, setting up meetings for us with our comptroller’s office and even attending those meetings with me.

NFIB is the voice of small business, advocating on behalf of America’s small and independent business owners, both in Washington, D.C., and in all 50 state capitals. NFIB is nonprofit, nonpartisan, and member-driven.

Here is a link to a great short video about NFIB:

Other than through my involvement in Texas, DMCs have not been on NFIB’s radar. They don’t know our industry and we need to fix that. Thus, we have negotiated a discounted promo code for DMCs for a first year membership of $175.

The code is DMC175 and is valid for 30 days. Click here for instructions on how to join. Then download the Engage App on your phone.

I am humbly asking that ALL U.S. ADMEI DMCs join NFIB within the next 30 days using this code. For those with multiple offices, please have EACH of your office/affiliates join in their respective states so that they are registered to receive their state legislative briefings. Doing so will have a great impact. By having all of our ADMEI DMCs join using this code, NFIB will notice us, talk about us within their ranks and learn who we are, what makes us tick and how they can help serve our industry and advocate for US.

Then, please GET TO KNOW your state office.

NFIB needs to know how tax reform is helping you. (They were the ONLY business organization that pushed back on legislators until the 20% deduction was put in for small business owners. You can thank them once you do your taxes this year and see how much they saved you!)

NFIB needs to know how new/brewing federal overtime rules as well as the predictive scheduling bills being filed in many states would hurt your business. (And if you don’t know about these, time to find out! Ask your state NFIB staff.)

Other opportunities once you join:

  • Find out about other benefits (including discounts) that NFIB offers members.
  • Utilize the business tools/vast information shared on their website.
  • Participate in NFIB’s surveys/votes. It’s important!
  • Participate in your state’s Small Business Day. (I’m here at Texas’s now. Our governor is addressing us tomorrow!)
  • Consider going to D.C. for the annual National gathering. (I’ve been twice. Fun and fascinating!)

Thank you for your time and support. Let’s MAKE THE DMC VOICE HEARD!
