ICBA Continues Taking on Reporting Mandate in Highway Bill

ICBA remains the only national banking association to stand up for community banks on a key regulatory burden issue making its way through Congress. In a coalition letter to the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, ICBA again expressed opposition to a section of the highway funding bill (H.R. 3038) that contains new IRS reporting mandates for mortgage loans.

The coalition letter, which follows a standalone ICBA letter from earlier this week, notes that this provision is a step backward in the fight for community bank regulatory relief. Read Coalition Letter. Read ICBA Letter.
