AFT Launches Digital Banking Special Interest Group (SIG)

SIG provides vendors with a forum to address common issues, create content, advance field within fintech.

ATLANTA (Jan. 10, 2018) – The Association For Financial Technology (AFT) approved formation of a Digital Banking Special Interest Group or SIG to bring together companies in targeted areas of knowledge and influence, to focus specific attention and develop content around topics impacting the greater financial technology community. Currently, AFT member companies represent the majority of mobile and internet banking providers to the U.S. financial industry.

Zach Duke, AFT president and EVP of Safe Systems, said, “AFT member companies provide technology, data and services to virtually every area of the banking industry. Creating a SIG for digital banking is a way we can help advance the industry and provide a richer experience for members who are innovating the mobile and Internet banking space.”

The AFT Digital Banking SIG is open to all member companies and will include both mobile and Internet banking vendors; point solution providers that enable transactions, such as bill payment; and those that improve the digital experience or make transactions safer for consumers.

Robb Gaynor, Chief Product Officer of Malauzai, will serve as the group’s chairman in 2018. Potential topics for development include:

  • Intellectual property rights,
  • Open API’s, helping to define a response to the Open API movement, and
  • Best practices in working with online app stores.

The SIG will meet at AFT Summits in the spring and fall, as well as two other times per year. Companies interested in participating in the SIG should contact scott@williammills.com.
