Position: Sanitarian Supervisor

Hours: Full-time, M - F 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
Starting Salary: A50 $26.79/hr; $55,723.20/Annual** ** (Salary Commensurate with experience)
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Health or degree in the Physical, Natural, or Biological Sciences which meet the educational requirements set forth by the Ohio Sanitarian Registration Act (ORC 4736)
- Current Ohio Sanitarian Registration; three years’ experience as a Registered Sanitarian II or graduate degree in environmental, public health, or related degree
- Current valid Ohio driver’s license & access to a motor vehicle
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Supervises and coordinates activities of registered sanitarian; Assigns duties, examines work, determines procedures, resolves work problems
- Recommends personnel action, Conduct staff meetings, Provides for training and orientation of staff
- Acts as technical resource
- Accompanies staff on field visits to provide administrative support when necessary and to evaluate staff performance
- Responds to request for assistance and/or consultation from various groups including the public, industry, government, and other staff
- Provides for the coordination of environmental- borne infectious disease investigation.
- Accomplishes special project as necessary
- May be required to play an active role in the event of a public health emergency, which may include changes in responsibilities and working hours
