Hamilton County Public Health, a Nationally Accredited and award winning health district, is accepting applications for an Assistant Health Commissioner- Environmental Health Services.  Staff in the department of Environmental Health Services work to ensure the compliance of required public health standards and local regulations.  Requirements include: Master’s Degree from an accredited college in Public Health, Public Administration, Health Policy or Administration or related degrees with emphasis in environmental science or other related fields; five (5) years of administrative or supervisory responsibility.  Must be an Ohio Registered Sanitarian.  Must have valid driver’s license issued in the state of residency and must be willing to serve in the unclassified civil service. 

Job duties will include but are not limited to:

• Directing day-to-day activities and operations of the Department of Environmental Health Services including supervision of staff.
• Managing the development and implementation of the Department of Environmental Health Services’ goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for each assigned program area.
• Developing budgets and preparing reports including financial and program activity progress reports and year end reports.
• Developing and implementing quality improvement plans to increase process efficiencies.
• Assisting the Health Commissioner and the Board of Health in the enforcement of all laws and regulations relevant to the Department of Environmental Health Services and under the jurisdiction of the Hamilton County Board of Health.
