RFP--Shaker Heights Recreation Strategic Plan, Phase 2
City of Shaker Heights
The City of Shaker Heights is now seeking proposals from qualified consultants interested in providing recreation planning and implementation services to build upon Phase 1 and complete a second phase. The Recreation Strategic Plan Phase 2 Implementation Plan will include: funding & financing strategies, potential partnerships, possible programming, fit plans, recommended phasing, and community center planning. Phase 2 will focus on strategic implementation of three priority projects based on the Phase 1 Plan and City Administration priorities (see p. 109 of the Recreation Strategic Plan):
1. Stephanie Tubbs Jones Community Building Quadrant—New Community Center [See Exhibit A],
2. Stephanie Tubbs Jones Community Building Quadrant—Explore artificial turf on the existing multipurpose field and playground relocation [See Exhibit A], and
3. Thornton Ice Rink—Building rehabilitation or a new facility [See Exhibit B].
All teams must include a recreation professional, architect, finance/funding specialist, and other team members that the team deems necessary, such as a planner, landscape architect, engineer, etc. The available Phase 2 Recreation Strategic Plan budget is up to $80,000.
