Outreach Opportunity

Bethany Couts is a member of Bethel who has almost completed the first of two years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Malawi, Africa. She is involved in a program called Camp GLOW (Girls Leading Our World) in August of 2007. They will be hosting 60 Malawian young women. The goal is to offer information in the areas of leadership, career choices, environmental awareness, women's health issues, and self-empowerment. The hope is to provide a safe atmosphere for these women to explore and seriously consider their futures. Donations and supplies are needed for a successful program.

On June 24 Bethel UMC will hold a loose change offering to support this ministry effort by Bethany and the Peace Corps. If you cannot participate that day but would like to include a donation, send it to the church in advance and label it ""Camp GLOW."" To send a separate monetary donation after that date, make checks out to: Diana Couts, 5601 Johnston Rd, Celina, OH 45822. (Photocopies will be kept for recordkeeping purposes.)

If you prefer to send specific supplies for Camp GLOW, the church office can provide shipping details. Here is the most recent list of items still needed:

Rubber stamps

Tie-dye (6 small bags per color)

Ink pads of different colors

Welcome Bag items (65 of each item)

Bead necklaces

School supplies (pencils already donated)

Bingo prizes
