Dues Restructure

One Company. One Membership.

The BIA is changing the way we engage with our members – broadening our outreach and expanding your opportunities.

This new membership dues structure is a company-based membership no longer requiring multiple individual memberships to experience the benefits of the BIA.  This update will simplify your membership by creating one invoice for membership; better company exposure; engaging your employees and increased communication and involvement to the key people in your organization.  We are creating more opportunities to connect for our members that are targeted to their roles within the residential construction industry.

We believe this all-inclusive membership will better benefit your company while strengthening the industry by giving it a more engaged community in central Ohio.

Associates

Your company membership will now be based on your number of central Ohio-based employees.  You get one company membership with a specified number of full memberships that also include NAHB and OHBA membership.  If you would like to add additional full NAHB/OHBA memberships, you can.  Each employee will now be a BIA member and able to receive many of our benefits and engage in BIA events and activities.

FAQ

Why the change?
The BIA surveyed several segments of membership as well as compared our structure to other building industry associations across the county.  Based on the feedback and research, our Board of Directors believes this is a great opportunity to build networking, communication, education, and engagement of our members and the strength of the residential building industry.

Why is this based on the number of employees?
For our associate member companies offering many different products and services, we felt this was the most equitable way to tier company-based membership.  Much like the builder model that is based on yearly sales.

My company is not based in central Ohio?
For our member companies not based in central Ohio, the membership is based on the number of employees working in the central Ohio area.

How many employees can we include?
You can provide names and information for as many employees in your company in the central Ohio area up to 75.

What if I need to make an employee change after we renewed?
Simple.  Contact the BIA and we will update that information anytime throughout the year.  However, your dues level will not increase or decrease until the next dues year.

Why do Realtors get their own membership?
This is a new membership we will be offering to license Realtors in the Central Ohio area. This is an individualized local BIA Membership that will not have NAHB and OHBA affiliation.
