ORGANIZATIONAL & PROFESSIONAL COMMUNICATION INTEREST GROUP\
Call for Papers and Panels

2019 Central States Communication Association (CSCA)
Annual Convention in Omaha, Nebraska
April 3-6, 2019
Dialogue

The Organizational and Professional Communication Interest Group invites the submission of competitive papers, panels, roundtable discussions, and innovative programming for the 2019 CSCA convention in Omaha, Nebraska. The purpose of our interest group is to promote the efforts of researchers, teacher/scholars, and practitioners as they relate to the study and practice of human communication in organizational and professional topics. Thus, any such topic related to organizational and professional communication is welcomed.

We especially encourage submissions that relate to the convention theme, Dialogue. The focus should be placed on the spirit of “dialogue,” rather than simply including the word in titles. For example, as an interest group we can demonstrate how the research and practice of organizational communication is constituted by dialogue and the ways that dialogue can be leveraged, shaped, and influenced by organizational discourses, structures, and members. Further, submissions can facilitate dialogue across panels, disciplines, and institution types.

Papers and panels from both established and new scholars that celebrate strong scholarship and suggest new directions for research, application, and teaching are encouraged. Planners are interested in all types of formats, including: traditional paper panels, roundtable discussions, and working research and mentoring sessions. In terms of panels, preference will be given to those with panelists representing multiple institutions rather than representing a single institution. We are especially interested in submission formats that draw the audience into conversation about the theme Dialogue and its relation to the study and practice of organizational communication.
