CSCA - Activism, Communication Ethics, and Social Justice Statement

The Activism, Communication Ethics, and Social Justice interest group denounces, in the most certain terms, racist attitudes and actions against black and brown people. This week, with the shooting of Daunte Wright, we are reminded of the prevalence, and devastating effects of, the many forms of verbal, psychological, and physical violence that have been visited upon black and brown people for generations.

As an interest group, we are devoted to social justice, both rhetorically and in our daily lives. We stand in solidarity with all those victimized by overlapping oppressions. We pledge to make our work, our spaces and our words sources of comfort to these communities. 

We offer the following resource from Learning for Justice entitled "Don't Say nothing: Responding to Police Violence" as a means to help find ways to open dialogue in our communities.
