CSCA 2027 ... Great Ideas for Teaching (G.I.F.T.) Call for Papers Deadline October 9th

Hello G.I.F.T. Division Members,

The deadline for submissions for the 2027 CSCA Conference is Friday, October 9, 2026, by 11:59pm CDT.

Please submit your G.I.F.T.S and encourage others to submit!

We encourage creative ideas from all areas of the communication discipline—especially those that align with this year’s convention theme: Navigate – Finding Inspiration in Uncharted Terrain.

Online and AI Teaching Focus

Recognizing the continued growth of online education and AI, this year we will offer a dedicated G.I.F.T. session focused solely on teaching activities used in virtual classrooms, whether synchronous or asynchronous. Although the featured assignments must be designed for online use, presenters will share their ideas in person at the conference.

Lower-Level Courses Focus

We also hope to offer a G.I.F.T. session directed towards lower-level courses. Introductory courses provide an opportunity to teach a diverse group of students from various majors and academic interests. Providing a session dedicated to the foundational courses can help all instructors find new approaches that will benefit a general audience.

Sincerely,

Dr. Angie Glunz
