2023 DBX Annual Meeting Recap

 

The Dayton Builder's Exchange held it's Annual Meeting on April 20th at The Engineer's Club of Dayton.

Suzanne Winters of WENCO Construction and Tom Wolfe III of Alloyd Insulation were installed as Directors to the DBX Board. Their willingness to serve and give back to the industry is greatly appreciated.

Each Committee gave the following reports:

 

Workforce Development Committee - Chairman Eric Davis of Messer Construction
The DBX has held four Drug & Alcohol-Free Workplace Classes since the first of the year.

The Committee is investigating the establishment of a DEI (Diversity, Equality, Inclusion) Certified Training Program to offer to DBX member firms.

Marketing & Membership Committee - Chairman Mike Taylor of Pinnacle Architects
The Committee is working with National Processing Solutions to develop a program specifically for DBX members.

The Committee is investigating how the DBX can assist the Dayton Rebuilding Together program.

The Committee is investigating how the DBX can work with the Dayton Victory Project.

The Committee encouraged everyone to participate in the upcoming DBX Sporting Clay Event.

The Committee has finished the final plans to launch BOLT (Building With Our Local Talent).  This program is designed to promote the deep bench that Dayton enjoys of our local Design and Construction professionals.

Sporting Clay Event scheduled for May 11th. 

Team Building Night scheduled for August 10th.

Safety Committee - Chairman Phil Smith of MSD
The Committee, in conjunction with DBX Safety Council Gary Auman, has streamlined the DBX Safety Award application process.  The ROI of the Safety Awards Program is being promoted.

The Committee is working on development of a Safety Officer Certification Program.

The Committee is working on development of a Company Safety Policy Template.

The Committee has established a DBX Safety Training Fund in order to fund some of its projects.  The first event of the Safety Fund is a silent auction in conjunction with Team Building Night.

Legislative Committee - Chairman Howard Krisher of STARCO
The DBX support of Ohio Retainage Reform.

The DBX support of Ohio Prompt Pay Legislation.

DBX opposition to the proposal to find Non-Compete Agreements illegal.

Investigating the problem of delays with the City of Dayton Plan Review and Permitting process.

Has established a DBX PAC Fund.

Scheduling get-acquainted meetings with area legislators and government administrators.
