Subscribing / unsubscribing to a list is quite simple.
1. New subscribers can join a list by sending mail to the list serve they would like to join. The user will need to include the words ‘subscribe-request" after the list name. For example, if a user would like to join the eca-applied-list he/she would send an email to ECA-APPLIED-L-subscribe-request@lists.psu.edu. The subject and message content portions of the email should be left blank. The list serve system will pick up the users name and email address from their e-mail message header.
2. To unsubscribe, a user will follow the same procedure but change the verbiage following the list name. The user will need to include the words "unsubscribe-request" after the list name. For example, if a user would like to unsubscribe from the ECA-APPLIED-L list he/she would send an email to "ECA-APPLIED-L-unsubscribe-request@lists.psu.edu". The subject and message content portions of the email should be left blank. The list serve system will pick up the users name and email address from their e-mail message header.
3. Once a user is joined to the list he/she will receive a welcome message with additional information.
4. A user must be a member of the list before he/she can send a message to the list serve.
5. A user can send a message to the list by sending an email to the list serve address. For example, is a user would like to send an email to the ECA-APPLIED-L list he/she would use the following email address: ECA-APPLIED-L@lists.psu.edu
