Organizational Communication - 2010 Call for Papers

 

** SECOND CALL FOR PAPERS ORGANIZATIONAL COMMUNICATION INTEREST GROUP**

101st ANNUAL MEETING, EASTERN COMMUNICATION ASSOCIATION

APRIL 22-25, 2010

HYATT REGENCY AT THE INNER HARBOR, BALTIMORE, MD 

     The Organizational Communication Interest Group is seeking submissions for ECA's 101st Annual Meeting in Baltimore, MD. This year's convention theme, Charting a Course: Meeting New Horizons, focuses on where ECA and the communication discipline go as we begin our second century. Submissions focusing on the convention theme are particularly encouraged but other submissions are welcome. Submissions will be accepted electronically as an email attachment by djohnson@ithaca.edu. All submissions must be received by October 15, 2009. 

Completed Paper Submissions Should Include:

  1. A title page with the paper title and the author's name, affiliation, mailing address, telephone number, email address and any request for audio-visual equipment
  2. The word "Debut" marked on all papers written by authors who have not presented previously at a regional or national convention
  3. A one-page abstract on the second page
  4. A statement of professional responsibility on the second page 

Panel Proposal Submissions Should Include:

  1. A thematic title for the program
  2. Names of the chair and respondents, if any
  3. Names, mailing addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses and institutional affiliations of all participants
  4. Titles and abstracts for each paper or presentation
  5. Program copy (NO MORE THAN a 75 word description) as it should appear in the final program
  6. A detailed rationale for the panel and any request for audio-visual equipment
  7. A statement of professional responsibility  

ALL submissions must include a statement of professional responsibility that reads: In submitting the attached paper/panel, I/we recognize this submission is a professional responsibility. I/We agree to present this paper/panel if it is accepted and programmed. I/We further recognize that all who attend or present at ECA's annual meeting must register and pay required fees. 

***ECA has a Technology Policy (available in full text at www.ecasite.org). Please note in particular the section that reads, "ECA will not approve requests for the following technology: personal computers, laser printers, satellite links, teleconference equipment, LCD panels and projectors, video data projects, and digital versatile/video disc equipment."
