“Workplace Mental Health & Suicide Prevention Training" -- Local 701 MAP Update -- Local 134 ERS Update / Construction Industry Alliance Update - (ECA / NECA Safety Forum) -- Friday, April 26, 2024

The recent Joint Safety Forum, "Workplace Mental Health & Suicide Prevention Training,” hosted by the Safety Committee's of the Electrical Contractors’ Association of City of Chicago (ECA) and the Northeastern Illinois Chapter of NECA, as well as by PowerForward DuPage was well attended. Over 40 registered for the complementary program that was held on April 26, 2025 at DuPage / Local 701 JATC in Warrenville, IL. The Forum also included presentations which included a Local 701 MAP update, Local 134 MAP and ECA ERS update and a Construction Industry Alliance Suicide Prevention update.

The presenters were as follows:

• John Newquist, CSC was the Instructor concerning the "Workplace Mental Health & Suicide Prevention Training;"
• Local 701 MAP representative, Ashley Treder, gave a MAP update; 
• Local 134 MAP / ERS update was given by Kathleen Horton, ERS; and
• Construction Industry Alliance Suicide Prevention update was given by Kevin O'Shea, Shamrock Electric Company, Inc.

We thank John, Ashley, Kathleen and Kevin for their time with the forum! We also thank the DuPage / Local 701 JATC and PowerForward DuPage for hosting / catering the event. The next Forum is anticipated for the Fall 2024 at INTECH in Alsip, IL. Details to follow, soon.
