The Electrical Contractors’ Association of City of Chicago (ECA) Research and Education Committee was proud to sponsor the Reasonable Suspicion / Sexual Harassment Prevention Training Seminar that was held on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm at Maggiano's Banquets in Oak Brook, IL. The session was facilitated by Bill Heffernan, ScreenSafe, Inc.
The seminar fulfilled the City of Chicago and the State of Illinois requirements for Annual Sexual Harassment Prevention Training.
The Reasonable Suspicion program included:
- Understanding substance use trends
- Embracing employee or member assistance programs
- Recognizing signs and symptoms of commonly misused drugs and alcohol
- Navigating the drug testing process
- Mastering objective documentation
- Strategies for successful interventions
- Essential procedures and protocols for reasonable suspicion testing
The Sexual Harassment Prevention Training covered several areas, including: defined sexual harassment, provided examples of prohibited conduct, described the impact of harassment, detailed the various responsible agencies at the local, state, and federal levels the process for making a report, and the legal remedies available to victims.
This seminar was complimentary for ECA members. We thank Mr. Heffernan for his time and expertise with the program!
