Role Summary
The Manager, Retirement Plan Services (“RPS”) will build trust with plan sponsors and plan participants
as they as they seek to create effective company retirement plans and creatively engage employees in the
education process which prepares those participants for retirement. The role includes implementing and
enhancing the RPS business strategy, developing strong relationships with plan sponsors and plan
participants, and maintaining vendor relationships (Recordkeeper, TPA, Custodian…). A successful
candidate will:

 Have a passion for developing and maintaining strong relationships with plan sponsors and
participants as well as communicate effectively at various levels of sophistication
 Be self-structured and able to deal with multiple inputs and prioritize accordingly
Duties and Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:
 RPS Business Strategy & Structure
o Develop and improve processes and procedures which promote the RPS service model
with a focus on Education Engagement, Investment Guidance, and Fiduciary Guidance
o Perform new client plan conversions to new recordkeeping systems in seamless fashion
o Work with The Joseph Group’s management team to develop and execute on strategic
goals for the RPS division
o Work with The Joseph Group’s personal Wealth Advisory Services to create synergies
with RPS
o Assist with and encourage the growth of RPS through the addition of new clients/plans
o Document participant and sponsor success stories
 Plan Sponsor Relationships
o Proactively identify needs and communicate with all plan sponsors on a regular basis
o Create a participant education plan for each plan and determine frequency of one on one
or group education initiatives
o Offer strategic advice concerning how the firm can maximize the value of its retirement
benefits
o Be aware of regulations impacting retirement plans and proactively discuss with plan
sponsors
o Facilitate Annual Due Diligence Review process for each plan sponsor
 Participant Relationships
o Serve as primary point of contact to guide participants in getting answers about their
retirement plan
o Serve as advisor to plan participants to help them move toward their goals and dreams
o Conduct plan enrollments for new employees
o Educate participants about core financial topics (both plan & non-plan related)
o Assist with solutions when plan participants run into roadblocks or issues
 Vendor Relationships (Recordkeeper, TPA, Custodian…)
o Cultivate relationships with vendor firms in order to facilitate personal service for plan
sponsors and participants
o Direct operational and compliance questions to appropriate administrative firms
o Develop awareness of vendors we are not currently using in order to continuously assess
industry best practices and/or future partners
o Evaluate vendor firms to ensure values and service level aligns with the reputation that

Qualifications
This position typically requires the following qualifications:
 Work experience that demonstrates RPS acumen is desired
 Excellent communication, listening, and relationship building skills
 Strong project management skills – organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask and prioritize
 A passion for caring for clients
 A Team player in The Joseph Group’s “Best Places to Work” culture
 Desire/ability to work successfully in a small company environment
 Proactive, self-motivated personality
 Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
