International Fluid Power Society relaunches
Fluid Power Electronic Controls Specialist Certification

Cherry Hill, NJ – May 18, 2016, The International Fluid Power Society (IFPS) with support from FPDA recently relaunched its much awaited Electronic Controls Specialist (ECS) certification. The ECS certification is designed to review and test understanding, specification, and application of the full breadth of electronics used in the fluid power industry from simple sensors and limits to HMIs, controllers, and networks. It includes a brief review of applicable pneumatic and hydraulic principles, as well as in-depth examples of the electronics for both mobile and industrial fluid power equipment.

“The IFPS strives to keep pace with changing fluid power and motion control technologies and the development of the ECS certification is a prime example,” said Rance Herren, CFPECS, CFPSD, CFPMT and IFPS president. “Many companies and individuals have spent countless hours researching and constructing this certification to reflect the technologies that dominate the advanced control of fluid power in a wide variety of applications throughout industry.”

Candidates may register for the ECS certification test by visiting www.ifps.org.  This Certification requires successful completion of a three-hour written test. IFPS Members may download a complimentary study manual; non-members may purchase the manual.

About the IFPS - Beginning with the first Fluid Power Hydraulic Specialist Certification in 1980, the IFPS has become the recognized industry leader in fluid power and motion control certifications.
