A Message from FPDA President, Andrea Tysdal

Andrea TysdalHappy New Year!

As President of the FPDA, I wanted to take a moment to update the membership on the strategic discussions and actions the Board is working on this year.  Our Board met in December and exciting discussions focused on how to continue to bring value to our membership and market this value effectively, promoting a positive membership experience.  We decided that the primary competencies for these strategies include:

  • Membership
  • Member Services
  • Education
  • Networking

Each competency of focus quickly engaged Board Members as chairs, and FPDA staff as advisors and implementers. The task forces and objectives are:

  1. Membership Task Force
  • Develop and refine a qualified membership prospect database
  • Monitor annual retention rates and implement strategies to increase retention
  • Recommend and implement any necessary changes to membership dues
  1. Services Task Force:
  • Focus ongoing development of Mentor Program & YES program
  • Re-consider e-Networks; Consider Women In Industry Network (WIN)
  • Review effectiveness of existing member services and programs
  1. Education Task Force:
  • Deliver a comprehensive employee and training development program to incorporate training and development for ongoing employee growth and recognition.
  • Partner with SME’s ToolingU; UID and 4 Pillar Sales Training for additional and discounted education.
  • Consider webinars and/or online or e-Seminars presented by key executives
  1. Annual Summit Task Force:
  • Diversify educational programming
  • Expand Networking opportunities with social media, blogs and facilitated networking at in-person meetings.
  • Re-examine the Golf and Spouse programs

The FPDA Board looks forward to presenting the inspirational outcomes of this strategy and planning to the membership in the coming months.
