Manufacturing Day Will Take Place October 6, 2017

Manufacturing Day (MFG DAY) will take place on October 6 this year. The annual national celebration puts modern manufacturing, your talented workforce, the amazing products you manufacture and the exciting career paths available to today’s students in the spotlight. Studies show that when a student visits a manufacturing facility, he or she is much more likely to consider a manufacturing career. What we do on Manufacturing Day is essential to building the modern manufacturing workforce.

NAM is encouraging FPDA to participate by officially endorsing MFG DAY and by encouraging you, the FPDA members to host an event at their manufacturing facilities.

Endorsing MFG DAY is a quick and free way to publically show support for the MFG DAY mission. And the NAM is here every step of the way to provide you with assistance and materials to help your members host an amazing event. Check out the newly redesigned resources section on the MFG DAY website, where you’ll find planning guides, social and traditional media playbooks, logos and much more.

The NAM is hosting three free webinars on what MFG DAY is and how to get involved. These webinars will cover most of the questions you will likely hear from your members, so I encourage you to share the links with your members and urge them to register.

For other questions or additional assistance, NAM Director of Public Affairs & Grassroots Advocacy Christopher Glen is available by email at cglen@nam.org or by phone at (202) 637-3121.

There has never been a more exciting time to be a manufacturer in America. Thank you in advance for joining us in supporting this fun and impactful celebration of all things manufacturing.
