Police said the suspect walked into the bank and placed a suspicious item on the counter claiming it was a bomb and demanded money. Police said the suspect fled east and a search is currently ongoing.

Fayetteville police are searching for a suspect following a bank robbery. According to public information officer Sgt. Stephen Mauk, the robbery happened at United Bank on Joyce Boulevard.
Mauk said officers responded to a bank robbery and bomb threat call just after 10 a.m. on Monday.
