Be On The Lookout For Hurricane Ida Scams And Rumors
Forbes Advisor
As victims of Hurricane Ida evaluate property damage, they should be wary of hurricane-related scams and rumors about financial relief.
Hurricane Ida left nearly a million people without power due to strong winds and flooding. The storm made landfall in Louisiana on the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, which devastated the area 16 years ago.
Government agencies and officials are warning those impacted by Hurricane Ida to be on alert. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has created a website to demystify rumors surrounding financial relief.
