Armored truck drivers exchange gunfire with possible robbers at bank in N. Harris Co., sheriff says

HOUSTON, Texas – Operators of a Brinks Armored Truck reportedly exchanged gunfire with three suspects during a robbery attempt at a bank in north Harris County, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.

The shooting around 1:30 p.m. at Comerica Bank, located at 845 W. FM 1960 near Red Oak Drive.

It is believed that two men who opened fire on the armored truck operators were attempting to commit a robbery, according to Gonzalez. Authorities say they discovered weapons, including a rifle, at the scene.

The suspected robbers were in a black Mercedes sedan at the time of the shooting. They fled the scene on foot, according to investigators.
