New Florida law could protect seniors from getting scammed

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis just signed a bill into law that may help protect senior citizens.
The new law is expected to provide another layer of protection to keep them from being scammed.
For a lot of us, going to the bank is something we do without giving it much thought.
But an elderly person, or someone who's mentally disabled, may feel pressured to go to a bank and withdraw a lot of money and that could have devastating results.
"This is good because you know sometimes when you get old 70,80, we don't remember things. We don't even know what month it is," said John Joo, a bank customer and West Palm Beach resident.
